Emotionally Regulate 🧘‍♀️ with God, Really? | 89

HEY Reader,

Saying goodbye to former dreams is very difficult.

I thought I knew exactly what I wanted my life to look like. What I would create. How I would live each day. What I would write. How I would give glory to God.

But as life has drastically changed these past two months (praise GOD and thank you, Jesus), I recognized how much I was being pulled in a million different directions. Many of them were directions I could never actually follow. And when I noticed this, I also noticed where my presence dropped.

Because as human beings who follow Jesus Christ, we feel like we are called to be so much.

Called to be good moms, perfect wives, strong Christians. Hard-working, inspiring, crafty. Chefs, housekeepers, planners, teachers. And for many women, that doesn't even include their jobs outside the home.

When I began to see that maybe I had gotten what God called me to do twisted, I went to Him and asked.

"God, Really?" was meant to heal the weary mom. So I devoted myself to that. I kept showing up, praying, and letting the Holy Spirit talk and work through me... only to realize the show had fulfilled its purpose. It healed me. The weary mom.

I am so grateful for that, but now I need to step fully into my calling. And that is to be a mom. A SAHM. A homeschooling mom. That's why this entire podcast, platform, website, emails, everything is shifting now.

God has called me to raise my boys in faith using the skills I've learned and developed over the years, and to share everything I create for them with YOU. At the end of the day, my focus needs to be on them, and anything that pulls me away is a distraction. You get it. You're a mom too.

And maybe now I can actually do it all! Whatever God has in store for me, I am trusting, I am abiding, I am obeying, and I am showing up.

Take this as your sign to seek God for understanding and guidance. He will not let you down if you seek Him with your whole heart.

NEW PODCAST EPISODE

Do you tell yourself you're regulating your emotions when honestly, you're just stuffing them down and moving on?

In this episode, I get honest about falling back over that line. I thought I was practicing biblical emotional regulation when I was actually living in suppression. I kept telling my husband I needed to take it to God in prayer. Then never made the time to do it. When he pointed that out, I was not exactly thrilled with him. It was humbling, and it's exactly why I am sharing it.

BIBLE STUDY

The line between emotional regulation and emotional suppression is thinner than you think. This study is about catching that distinction before it catches you.

PODCAST BIBLE STUDY COMMUNITY RESOURCES BLOG HEY Reader, It's been wild trying to built all this on my own. It's easy to feel discouraged or confused. Which I often do. Still am, if I'm being honest. Thankfully, God has continued to remind me that I am capable (and qualified) to follow my heart. And my husband...
