Universal, Minions, and God. Really? | Devotional #14

Insider Devotional:
August 7, 2026

Hey Reader,

Every trip we've ever taken as a family has been stressful, and it progressively got worse as Max's condition worsened and Finnegan grew closer to toddlerhood. We have cancelled so many trips and lost so much money in the past because we were unable to travel, but Mike and I always tried. Always.

After we experienced the miracle of Max's healing, free from a wheelchair and beyond, we decided to try a staycation at our favorite resort. It helps that we live in Florida, so a staycation for us means a theme park!

During our four-day staycation, we enjoyed Cabana Bay Resort, Epic Universe, Islands of Adventure, and Universal Studios. As with any family, we experienced some hiccups (no pun intended, iykyk), but those hiccups were the easiest we've faced in four years of traveling with a kid.

In the moments when it got hard, I found myself immediately going to God through the BAM prayer framework, keeping me grounded, focused, and most importantly, calm.

It's sometimes a heavy burden being the one who holds all the emotions, whose feelings make or break a moment. But being able to take it to God immediately, release it all to Him, and be present with my kids even in the chaos? That is such a gift.

You may not have experienced a miracle like my family has, or maybe you're still praying for one. Whatever it is you're holding onto, I hope you'll take time to release it to God so you can enjoy the moments that used to feel too stressful to be present for.

Heal your nervous system with God. Take some deep breaths. Say out loud, "I am not under attack. God is for me, not against me." (Romans 8:31) And then, take your concerns to Him.

If you need a reminder of the BAM prayer framework, download the guide here.

I hope you take some time to rest this weekend and recharge. It's not selfish to care for yourself. Jesus often retreated to places alone (Luke 5:16). It's okay to want to be alone sometimes.

P.S.If you are looking for some extra support and guidance back to God, I would love to talk with you! Set up a 15-minute (free) discovery call to see if we would be a good fit and how I could help you in your walk with God. Book a time here!

ASH DION

Hi, I’m Ash. Mom of two, wife, and completely obsessed with Jesus. I grew up believing I was a good Christian, until watching my child suffer led to my faith unraveling. God showed up in my son's hospital room and I couldn't run faster into His arms. But don't take my word for it. Take His. If you are ready to find your faith and grow with God, then let's go God-seeking.

New Episode:August 25, 2026 Hey Reader, Let me get right to it... If I didn't hit rock bottom, I wouldn't be where I am today with God. Hands-down, I know that to be true. Recently. I was trying to help one of the members in the Grow with God program reach their goals and let me just say, when I went to God in prayer over them to ask for guidance and seek wisdom on how to best help, God humbled me real fast. The overall message from that prayer session was, sometimes you have to hit rock...

Insider Devotional:August 21, 2026 Hey Reader, I have a slight obsession with Harrison Ford. I used to tell people it was because of Indiana Jones, but I'm going to let you in on a little secret... It was actually because of Linus Larrabee in the 1995 remake of Sabrina. And ever since watching that movie at 5 years old, I've wanted to go to Paris. (Still haven't, but maybe one day.) So when Mike got a pair of Apple AirPods that included a year of Apple TV+, I was most excited to watch...
